The Egyptians believed in many god and goddesses. They believed in gods because of they needed a way to explain things such as natural events, natural disasters or other things such as life, death where people go after they die. There is a lead god that is the sun god. He is called Ra. There are many gods and goddesses. There is even a goddess of cats called Bastet.
