The Geography of Egypt it is very dry and sandy. It is most difficult to survive with out any modern transportation or being close enough to the Nile. This helped them in more ways than one they used it for transportation and protection it also gave them water for their crops. If you didn't have these key things you would probably die. The Nile also flooded once a year and provided fertile ground for the crops.
