Daily Life

Family life:

The Egyptians highly valued family life. They Thought children were a blessing. For the poor families the mother usually raised the kids. In the wealthy families they hired servants to take care of the daily needs of children. When a couple could not have a child they prayed to the gods and adoption was always an option too. Women were expected to listen to the men in there life but were equal to men in many ways. Young boys were taught trade or a type of craft by there fathers. Young girls received training and worked with there mothers.

Food and cooking:
The Egyptians did there cooking over open fires and clay ovens. Wood was scarce but still used for fuel. The commoners used clay dishes while the wealthy used bronze, silver, and gold dishes.

Clothing:

The clothing stiles of the Egyptians didn't change much. Clothes were made of linens with fine textures on them. The men wore kilts and the women wore dresses held on by a strap.
